THE GOLDEN LINDEN 2024 │ International Film Festival for New European Cinema
The aim of „The Golden Linden” Film Festival is to promote the European cinema in Bulgaria and to show the latest and most interesting films from various European countries. The festival has two programs: competition and additional. The selected films for the competition program are evaluated by an international jury. It is our wish that each year the additional program of the festival features films from various parts of Europe. There is a separate section featuring new Bulgarian movies presented by their creators and actors. The festival is organized with the support of the Municipality of Stara Zagora. Entrance to all festival screenings as well as all accompanying events is free of charge. All are welcome!

I grew up with the linden trees at my grandparents’ house in Troyan. The trees are gone now, but I am still haunted by the scent of their blossoms.
The Golden Linden International Film Festival, on the other hand, is alive and thriving more than ever. I have heard many wonderful things about all the interesting films and guests, and about hallmark Stara Zagora hospitality.
I can’t wait to see the films on this year’s competition programme and have an encounter with European directorial strategies capturing the reflection of our chaotic times.
Festivals tend to be sanctuaries of art, friendship and peace. Open spaces of imagination.
Good luck to the Golden Linden 2024! And may the scent of first-rate cinema continue for many more years!
