In India, Smita dreams of giving education to her little daughter and will do everything possible to make this happen, including leaving everything she knows in search of a better future.
In Sicily, Giulia works in her father’s wig workshop, the last of his kind in Palermo. When her father is a victim of a serious car accident, she discovers that her family’s livelihood is threatened.
In Canada, Sarah is a twice-divorced mother of three and a successful lawyer. Just when she expects the promotion she’s worked for throughout her career, she realizes she has breast cancer.
The braid is a vibrant and unique reminder of what unites us all – regardless of our different location, language or culture.

Laetitia Colombani

Laetitia Colombani is a French actress, screenwriter and film director born in 1976 in Bordeaux, France. Her career in cinema began with the creation of short films, after which she began working on projects related to feature films. In addition to being a writer and director, she also starred in television series in her homeland of France. The film “La Tresse” is based on the novel of the same name, which she wrote in 2017.
