The almost unrecognizable Helen Mirren illuminates the screen with her presence, bringing to life one of the most iconic and influential political leaders of the twentieth century, who was previously played by Ingrid Bergman on television and by Anne Bancroft on stage. Meir is a woman at the centre of a dramatic geopolitical period, at a potentially fatal moment for her country, surrounded only by men. The film focuses on the presentation of a strong but fragile lady who has to make decisions that are too important while dealing with her health issues.
