In a small Hungarian town, Anna is a beloved literature teacher who does not strictly follow the official curriculum but uses creative teaching methods. While discussing the French poet Rimbaud, she assigns the film Total Eclipse (1995) as optional homework, which portrays Rimbaud in a homosexual relationship. Although she has done this for many years without complaints, this time a conservative father sees his son watching the film and files a complaint. A committee is formed to determine whether the film is appropriate for that age group.
