Frédéric Hambalek

Frédéric Hambalek is a German director and screenwriter, born in 1986 in Karlsruhe, Germany. He studied Film Studies and American Studies at the University of Mainz before beginning his career with short films. His feature debut was Model Olimpia (2020), followed by What Marielle Knows (2025), which was selected for the Berlinale competition programme. His work often focuses on human relationships, family dynamics, and the hidden tensions of everyday life.
