In the height of summer, on the sun-kissed shores of the French Riviera, 17-year-old Cécile indulges in hedonistic idleness with her widowed playboy father, Raymond, and his latest romantic fling, Elsa. But the unexpected arrival of Anne—a cosmopolitan and refined friend of her late mother—threatens to dispel the haze of selfish bliss. Free of prejudice and determined to reclaim her father’s affection at any cost, Cécile sets a plan in motion to drive Anne away.
