17-year-old Johanne falls head over heels in love with her French teacher. In an attempt to capture the rush of this crush, she pours her experiences onto paper with raw honesty. When her mother and grandmother (a renowned poet) discover her writings, they find themselves torn between pride in her natural talent and unease at the blurred lines between reality and fiction. The film is a tender portrait of three generations of women who, through Johanne’s story, confront their own unfulfilled desires and views on intimacy. “Dreams” marks the final chapter of Haugerud’s ambitious trilogy “Sex, Love, Dreams” mapping out a profound landscape of human relationships in contemporary Oslo.
