Amidst the excitement of Paris Fashion Week, the paths of three women intersect in a search for meaning and healing. American film director Maxine (Angelina Jolie) embarks on a “life and death” journey to the French capital, where her fate entwines with a South Sudanese model and a French makeup artist. Alice Winocour’s English-language debut is a visually stunning drama that looks behind the glamour of the runways to explore the souls and wounds of women working in the shadows. “Couture” is an intimate portrait of self-discovery in a world where the spotlight’s glare meets a harsh reality.
