In 1981, a newly built and supposedly unsinkable rescue boat, RF2, tragically sinks during one of its first rescue missions, leading to the loss of nine lives. Henrik, the son of the RF2’s captain, begins an investigation as his father is held responsible for the incident. However, Henrik faces resistance from the town’s fishermen, who fear for their jobs, as well as from the authorities, who are concerned about a potential public scandal.
