Orsolya, a bailiff in Cluj-Napoca, evicts a homeless man from a building’s basement, leading to his tragic suicide. Consumed by guilt, she cancels her family vacation to search for absolution and redemption. As she wanders through the city, her encounters with friends, colleagues, and a priest reveal a society marked by indifference, rapid gentrification, and deep-seated ethnic tensions. The film is a sharp, absurdist black comedy about a moral crisis in modern Romania, serving as a contemporary homage to Roberto Rossellini’s Europe ’51.
