The year is 1800. Saint Ignazio College – a crumbling music school for girls near Venice – is home to “the Mute”, a silent, solitary young woman devoted to the humblest duties. No one knows her true name – Teresa – nor suspects her remarkable gift: the power to feel the harmony of the universe and transform reality through music. As the school prepares for the Pope’s visit, Teresa discovers a pianoforte in a dusty storeroom. An Italian actress, singer, and director, born in 1988 in Rome. After a successful career in television and music, Gloria! marks her directorial debut, blending her passion for music and cinema. The film is inspired by her urge to honor overlooked women composers.
