Junior Sándor “Sanyi” Szálka, a struggling puppeteer, has always lived in the shadow of his legendary father, a beloved icon of Hungarian theater and film. Haunted by failure and weighed down by alcohol addiction, Sanyi’s life spirals out of control until a violent confrontation with his family leaves him abandoned by his wife and daughter. At rock bottom, he chooses to fight back—quitting alcohol, joining a support group, and finding new love. But sobriety comes with its own battles. As anxiety grips him, a chance encounter with his estranged daughter, the sudden disappearance of a dear friend in recovery, Tomi, threaten his fragile recovery. Together with Pali, a fellow AA member, Sanyi sets out to find Tomi, confronting the harsh truths of addiction along the way. Is happiness possible without alcohol? Can a wounded soul heal? And most importantly, can a father, once feared, ever be forgiven?
